Trump told Gavin Newsom about proper forest management, now the Palisades are burning

Donald Trump stood next to Gavin Newsom and stressed the importance of proper forest management after wildfires swept through California in 2018. Fast forward to this week and California is burning once again. It appears that Gavin Newsom never took it seriously and, as usual, Gavin Newsom has failed the state of California. Why do people support someone who keeps pushing their state in the wrong direction?
