New Orleans area assistant DA found dead

NEW ORLEANS — An Assistant District Attorney with Orleans Parish DA’s office has died by an apparent suicide sources have confirmed.

 

WWL Louisiana can confirm that the D.A. assistant's identity is Ian Kersting.

 

According to the New Orleans Police Department's Major Offense Log, a brief document outlying overnight crimes and sent to media outlets, the incident was reported as a suicide Saturday around 9 p.m. in the 6100 block of South White Street.
