She’s got a big heart and some overactive things on the other side of it. This Texas mom named Alyse Ogletree, 36, has taken back the world record for the largest donation of breastmilk by an individual according to Guiness. She donated a massive 89,457.85 ounces of breastmilk to the Mothers’ Milk Bank in North Texas.
Ogletree broke the record back in 2014 the first time, then donating 53,081 ounces of breastmilk. But hey, she’s been a busy pumper, dishing out almost double the amount to reclaim her own world record! And Ogletree is happy to do so. She enjoys helping others, and if the calculations are correct, then she’s helped an enormous number of babies, getting that breastmilk out to so many families. The report on Guniness’ website said:
“I have a big heart,” she said. “At the end of the day, I’m not made of money and I can’t give away money to good causes over and over because I have a family I have to support for.
Donating milk was a way I could give back. Mothers’ Milk Bank told me that every ounce would be feeding three preemie babies.
She added: “If the three per ounce is accurate, I’ve helped over 350,000 babies. This record is for just under 89,000 ounces, but I also did around 37,000 to Tiny Treasures, and probably another couple hundred to close friends.”
Ogletree started donating breastmilk in 2010, when her son was born. She was overproducing milk and the nurses asked if she was donating. That’s how she learned she could do so. And now look at her go, pumping so much of that breastmilk out into the universe and feeding all those hungry mouths. She sure has quite a pair of mommy milkers!
