Former President Donald Trump may be wondering what’s going on after seeing his federal trial has dropped off the court schedule, according to multiple breaking news and politics reports. This could be good news, or just a delay in the system for other reasons, but diving in deeper revealed information thanks to a report on USA News.
Donald Trump was supposed to stand trial on March 4, facing some federal charges related to allegations he wanted to flip the 2020 election, but that court date is no longer on the schedule. USA Today reports that the court still needs to determine if Donald Trump is immune to the charges or not. And if so, that would be really good news for Donald Trump.
If not, then it could escalate, putting a smile on Democrat faces instead. As of now, it seems very unlikely for Trump to stand trial on March 4th, because it seems like the court will simply take too long to decide on Trump’s potential immunity to the charges. The DC Circuit Court of Appeals will decide that fate and there’s no deadline on it, so that ruling is up in the air for as long or little as the court of appeals says so.
USA Today added more information on the pending immunity situation with Trump, saying the following in a breaking news and politics story:
Whatever the decision, the case is expected to be appealed to the Supreme Court, which could take weeks or months longer to decide.
Chutkan had sought to stick to her schedule. But other issues must also be debated before trial, such as what evidence might be excluded and what questions will be asked of potential jurors.
She had said postponing those decisions “will not serve the interests of justice.”
Meanwhile, Donald Trump is the likely frontrunner to become the Republican nominee in the 2024 election. He’s running a strong campaign despite the distractions and court issues with people like E. Jean Carroll who was joking about going on shopping sprees with Rachel Maddow after a court awarded Carroll just over $83 million from Trump.
Trump’s campaign is running on the notion of making America great once again, fixing what President Joe Biden is breaking, and putting America first while reversing political and global misfortunes that America may have suffered while under Democratic leadership.
