President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have officially left the White House and Joe Biden is set to be inaugurated at noon EST today.
Trump, on his way out, told his fans and supporters during a morning address that “we will be back in some form” and then he and Melania prepared to travel to Florida, as they are skipping the Biden inauguration.
Trump provided these comments to people while at the Joint Base Andrews location, from a podium. The now former president stated, the following to those listening, as quoted by Fox News: “We left it all on the field… What we’ve done has been amazing by any standard.”
Melania made remarks as well.
At some point this week, Trump denounced what happened at the Capitol on January 6 and also hoped for the Biden administration to have “great luck and great success” – despite sending a warning that Biden and his team might in fact eliminate, or rollback, some of the policies that Trump’s administration put into place. One statement Trump made in particular was “I hope they don’t raise your taxes, but if they do I told you so.”
Trump has apparently left a note for Joe Biden and his team, but it’s unclear at this time what that note says.
There is always the possibility that Trump or one of his associates or family members runs for president in 2024.
Meanwhile, Donald and Melania are off to Mar-a-Lago in Florida.
