That weirdo Sam Smith said he'd like to be a 'fisherthem' - since he's non-binary and cringe as anything. Total weirdo. I like fishing too, but I'm not gonna change the word fisherman to match my made up gender crisis.

The Grammy winner, who is non-binary and goes by they/them pronouns, last month had to correct a TV host when referred to as a “fisherman”.

The 30-year-old’s reply has become a point of conversation around the world, after the Unholy singer said they dreamed of becoming a “fisherthem”.

During an interview with BBC’s The One Show, Smith was asked about fishing as a hobby, replying: “I do love fishing, yes. Yeah, I’d love to be a fisherthem.

“I do it on the sea, and I do it on lakes. I’ve never done it alone. Someone’s almost taught me.” SOURCE
