White House press secretary Jen Psaki is accused of violating the Hatch Act, a law that prohibits partisan politicking by executive branch employees.
Psaki was accused by a government watchdog called Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW). They claimed that Psaki violated the ethics law when she suggested that President Joe Biden was putting his support behind a Democrat running for governor, Terry McAullife, who’s in Virginia.
Psaki gave a statement, saying “I have to be a little careful about how much political analysis I do from here” – but she still suggested that Biden wants McAuliffe to be part of Virginia’s future. Psaki further stated “We’re going to do everything we can to help” as stated on CNBC.
