Oklahoma is making Bibles great again. An announcement shows the state plans to put a Bible in every public-school classroom. This was announced after Donald Trump won the 2024 election over Kamala Harris. State education officials of Oklahoma took charge on this initiative, but it’s unclear why they didn’t bother doing this before. Like, why did they wait until now? Was there pushback before that was lead by Democrats? It’s unclear.
People on both sides of politics are debating the Bible being in the public-school classroom. My view on it is this – what’s the difference? Are they going to read the Bible in a public school, because that wouldn’t make sense as there aren’t usually religion classes being held. So is the Bible just going to sit in the classroom and not be read by anyone? Or will they use it to teach a lesson? If so, then maybe they should find a way to incorporate the literature into lessons.
Seems like the new Bible policy could use this as a form of education, but how would that work in the public-school setting? No matter how you see this, it will be up for debate and at the end of the day – there’s nothing wrong with having a Bible in the classroom. Any student who wants to read it should be allowed to and that should never be a controversial topic.
