This school board meeting took another turn when a mom showed up fighting for free speech just so her kids can say ‘retard’ at school. I guess fighting for the first amendment includes everything. It’s unclear who the woman is or what the rest of the relevant information is, but I have a copy of the video and it’s quite entertaining.
You can see some funny facial expressions in the background, so pay close attention to those folks as you’re watching. When it comes to freedom of speech, it’s true you can say whatever you want, but sometimes those choices come with consequences. In this case, if you’ll get a detention for calling another student a ‘retard’ as part of a ‘don’t be mean to people’ rule, then that’s an example of a consequence.
