Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has revealed she is unvaccinated, but a further report now reveals she owns stock in three major vaccine companies.
AstraZeneca, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson are the stocks that Green holds each worth between $1,000 and $15,000.
And even more US lawmakers held stock in vaccine makers as the pandemic raged in 2020. At least 13 senators and 35 US representatives held shares in Johnson & Johnson, 11 senators and 34 representatives held shares in Pfizer, and 2 representatives or their spouses held shares of Moderna.
“I have an independent investment advisor that has full discretionary authority on my accounts. I do not direct any trades,” Greene said.
But Greene says she still isn’t vaccinated while decrying those who try to make her get the shot, despite her financial interest in vaccine stocks.
“Vaccine Nazis” were “ruining our country,” Greene said once.
“I’m not vaccinated, and they’re going to have a hell of a time if they want to hold me down and give me a vaccine,” she said.
Rep. Greene has been criticized for owning stocks in three of the four main companies while also speaking poorly against the vaccines. She has also been suspended, at one time, on Twitter for sharing misinformation. She was further criticized when she compared mandates to the Holocaust.
