That’s a ‘very specific’ number: Jon Stewart questions Hunter Biden’s pardon

(Crankers) President Joe Biden pardoned his son, Hunter Biden, for a specific date range and people like Jon Stewart are questioning it. The president previously said he wouldn’t pardon his son, but most dads would pardon their kid – so there was no actual surprise here. It was just Joe Biden saying one thing but doing another – going back on his word, but Joe shouldn’t have said this in the first place. Most people think he knew all along that he would pardon his son. It’s his son, after all.

Hunter Biden’s pardon covers the gun and tax crimes. The date of the pardon covers any federal crimes that “he committed” or “may have committed” between the dates of January 1, 2014 – all the way through December 1, 2024. That’s approximately 11 years when you count it out.

Jon Stewart has questions about this date range and suggested that it’s a very specific time to pick. Did something happen between those dates? The inquiring mind will surely investigate, but there won’t be anything done legally at this point. The video of Jon Stewart is below…

Is it standard procedure for a president to pardon family members so expansively? The date range seems rather unprecedented. Does this not set a concerning precedent for future administrations?

Actually, there’s historical precedent for controversial pardons, though not exactly like this case. The vast time range is what sets it apart. It’s worth exploring further.

But hasn’t stuff like this happened before? Why’s it such a big deal now?

Typical political move. Say one thing, do another. Doesn’t surprise me at all. They all play the same game.

Maybe Hunter just really loved the 2014 to 2024 vibes. That decade was lit, right?

Frank, while questioning the basis of this pardon is valid, shouldn’t we also consider the legal and ethical standards at play? Where do we draw the line between personal and political?

Oh, so now we’re just pardoning family members willy-nilly? What’s next, pardoning the family dog for digging up the Rose Garden?

I mean, isn’t it a president’s prerogative to pardon? Not saying it’s right or wrong, but it’s within his powers, right?

Sure, just pardon anyone and everyone. Next, they’ll tell us aliens did it and need a pardon too. Where does it end?

Interesting to see Jon Stewart raising questions about the date range. It’s good to have voices that push us to think more critically about these decisions.

Absolutely, it’s refreshing to see someone not just take things at face value but to question and provoke thought. Keeps the discussion alive.
