Kathy Hochul is a perfect example of failed Democrat logic. Drivers who enter parts of Manhattan will pay a $9 toll instead of a proposed $15 toll. The worst part of this all? Gov. Kathy Hochul had paused the implementation of this toll about six months ago, so people were paying $0. Now they’ll be paying $9 and Kathy wants them to be thankful it’s not $15.
Kathy is literally acting like she’s saving people money. However, if she kept this toll paused, then she’d actually save motorists the most money. It’s just funny that she’s saying this with a serious face as if going from $0 to $9 isn’t still wasting money. It’s expected to go up to $12 in 2028.
So what is the toll for? They’re calling it “congestion pricing” and they’ll likely use the money raised for public transportation, as they want more people to leave their car home and hop on the bus or something. Some folks may pay less, such as people who are low-income and paying it more than ten times per month. To be funny, you’ll all be low-income after a handful of trips into Manhattan, so at least you’ll have that going for you. Just another reason I avoid New York in general.
