Jhordan, a DoorDash employee, used TikTok to post a video on DoorDash employees being independent contractors. This implies they are not legally obligated to pick up every order placed with them.
Workers can choose which orders they wish to take. Thus good tippers always get their orders, according to Jhordan.
Jhordan showed a photo of dozens of McDonald’s bags lying in a room, proving that nobody wanted to pick up the orders and deliver them to non-tipping customers.
Since then, the TikTok video has gained over 489,900 views and 22,000 comments, sparking a heated controversy among customers.
