Former President Donald Trump announced plans to launch a social media network named ‘Truth Social’ as part of the Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) that will be listed on Nasdaq.
The social media project is being touted as a way to “stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech.”
Liz Harrington reported that this will happen through a merger with Digital World Acquisition Group. She stated: “President Donald J. Trump Announces Trump Media & Technology Group “I created TRUTH Social and TMTG to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech… I am excited to send out my first TRUTH on TRUTH Social very soon…”
Trump, who has been banned from several social media networks, had joked about Twitter, saying “We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American president has been silenced.”
