The much-anticipated adaptation of Cowboy Bebop was canceled less than a month after the season launched on Netflix.
The show premiered on November 19 and got mixed reviews. Stars of the show John Cho, Daniella Pineda, and Mustafa Shakir did a great job and receiving praises for their acting, according to fans. On the other hand, special effects and writing didn’t seem to be as appealing and the mixed reviews just weren’t enough to keep them going for another season.
Despite a niche group of audience members having a vast interest in the series, the series got a terrible 46 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with an audience rating of only 54 percent.
Fans have started a petition to keep it going for a second season.
However, it’s unclear if a mere petition is enough to change the minds of those who canceled it.
In case you haven’t had the chance to watch the first season of Cowboy Bebop, you can still watch it on Netflix.
