California is facing a significant homelessness problem. As of early 2024, the state has the largest homeless population in the nation, with approximately 187,084 people experiencing homelessness. This represents about 25% of the nation’s homeless population.
Several factors contribute to this issue, including a severe housing shortage, high housing costs, and economic challenges. Despite efforts to address the crisis, including significant spending on homelessness programs, the number of people living without shelter continues to rise.
Gavin Newsom’s sunny state spend billions on homelessness, but it seems like they weren’t sure how to track the effectiveness of their spending. Judging by the video below, it seems like it barely helped. That’s just my opinion. I know one thing, I won’t be going camping in any of the tents in California! Homelessness is a very complex issue that requires a multifaceted approach to solve, but I don’t think it ever will be solved entirely.
