Democrat Joe Biden said “America is back” as he informed Lester Holt that his first 100 days as president will be spent rolling back executive orders made by President Donald Trump and working on an path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants.
Biden, the president-elect, has stated that his top priorities at this time depend on how much cooperation he gets from Congress, as there may be push-back from Republicans who supported Trump’s executive orders, and moving towards citizenship for a large number of undocumented could post a challenge.
While speaking with Holt, from NBC News, Biden said that he “made a commitment, in the first 100 days, I will send an immigration bill to the United States Senate with a pathway to citizenship for over 11 million undocumented people in America.”
One of Biden’s rollback priorities is getting the United States back into the Paris climate accord, as Biden suggests that Trump’s executive order pulling America out of this was “damaging.” (Market Watch)
Biden spoke about selecting members for his administration and mentioned that his presidential or political agenda is “a very ambitious, very progressive agenda, and it’s going to take really strong leaders in the House and Senate to get it done.” Biden stressed he wanted to create an America that is united.
