Many MCU fans were alarmed when Tom Holland told Entertainment Weekly in October that the cast of Spider-Man: No Way Home was treated “like the end of the franchise” during filming. Holland’s contract is slated to expire after the forthcoming Spider-Man film, so it made sense. However, Amy Pascal, the producer, confirmed to Fandango that Holland would reprise his Spider-Man costume.
Pascal stated that this was not the last film made with Marvel and Holland, emphasizing that this was not the final Spider-Man film. He went on to say that this isn’t the final film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

So, not only is Holland staying on as Spider-Man, but he’ll also be receiving three more movies, which is the polar opposite of what he expected. That’s fantastic news for him, especially because he previously stated that despite his contract expiring, he’d return as Spider-Man “in a heartbeat” if Marvel Studios wanted him to.
On December 17, Spider-Man: No Way Home will be released in theaters. With Willem Dafoe and Alfred Molina returning their roles from the Tobey Maguire-starring trilogy from the 2000s, this film will bring the “Home” trilogy to a close in a big way by reintroducing villains Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus. Jamie Foxx, who played the villain Electro in the Andrew Garfield-led Spider-Man films, will reprise his role.
