(Crankers.com) Icelandic strongman Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (aka “Thor” and “The Mountain”) recently broke his own world record in the deadlift.
Björnsson successfully deadlifted an astounding 510 kg (1,124.4 lb) at the 2025 World Deadlift Championships in Birmingham, England. This surpasses his previous world record of 505 kg, which he set in July 2025 at the Eisenhart Black Deadlift Championships.
He first set the world record in May 2020 by deadlifting 501 kg at his home gym in Iceland.
