UPDATE: The spending bill passed and Democrats overwhelmingly voted YES on it. This does not negate the fact that that Speaker Johnson caved in. Johnson suggests Trump is happy with the result, but the bills should have been voted on individually to ensure no money is wasted on useless bills.
Mike Johnson still sold out.

Speaker Johnson may have just committed the worst thing ever when it comes to this controversial spending bill. There was traction that Republicans and Democrats would split the spending bill into individual bills and vote on various bills individually.
Voting on each bill on its own would get the most honest vote out of every politician and is always much better than lumping them all together. Lumping the bills together sometimes gets things passed that should bever be passed – and then it could end up wasting millions in taxpayer money. That’s exactly what the government needs to STOP DOING as Americans are tired of their tax money being wasted.
But of course, the traction came to a halt once Speaker Johnson met with ‘Dollar Tree Obama’ Hakeem Jeffries and changed his mind, according to what Rep. Thomas Massie posted on X. This is where the details get interesting.
An account named Wall Street Mav wrote the following: “UPDATE: Thomas Massie has won. The House GOP leadership is splitting the spending bill into smaller pieces. Each section will be voted on individually and allowed to pass or fail on it’s own. CR, disaster relief, debt limit increase, etc. They will each be separate votes.”
Rep. Thomas Massie responded, saying: “This was in fact correct when you tweeted it, but speaker Johnson flipped his decision after the meeting when he spoke to Hakeem Jeffries and realized he could get Democrat votes to pass all the legislation as one bill.”
Wall Street Mav later wrote: “It looks like the swamp is still actively trying to pass something crazy. @RepThomasMassie had convinced them to split everything into separate single topics, vote on each piece of legislation. Sink or swim on the merits. But now @SpeakerJohnson is trying to buy votes.“
