Meet Professor Jeffrey Sachs. This man was talking to the folks of Morning Joe and came out of nowhere to mention Obama, the CIA, and John Brennan. Sachs suggested that Obama put Brennan’s CIA in a position that would spark a ‘Syrian Civil War’ that eventually lead to the rise of ISIS.
I did some digging and it looks like Professor Jeffrey Sachs has been vocal about this since 2016. In August of 2026, he published an entry titled “America’s True Role in Syria” and it was critical of Obama and what he was, or wasn’t up to. It started off like this… and you can read the full entry here. The video of him saying things publicly is below the quote:
Syria’s civil war is the most dangerous and destructive crisis on the planet. Since early 2011, hundreds of thousands have died; around ten million Syrians have been displaced; Europe has been convulsed with Islamic State (ISIS) terror and the political fallout of refugees; and the United States and its NATO allies have more than once come perilously close to direct confrontation with Russia.
Unfortunately, President Barack Obama has greatly compounded the dangers by hiding the US role in Syria from the American people and from world opinion. An end to the Syrian war requires an honest accounting by the US of its ongoing, often secretive role in the Syrian conflict since 2011, including who is funding, arming, training, and abetting the various sides. Such exposure would help bring to an end many countries’ reckless actions.

i read something similar last year, not sure if its all true. seems like everyone blames someone else these days.
totally agree things are never what they seem gotta keep questioning everything
Interesting article, Frank! It’s always good to get new perspectives on historical events. Thanks for sharing!
F-CK Dingle Barry-0; WTP ALL Know ISIS (esp., Al $ham) is the CIA’s straw man to U.S. Armed Forces’ Knock D0WN$ (It’s why they’re never defeated). Perpetual War 1984 ! – Big Bother (sc)
Ah yes, because obviously, everything bad in the world is always the U.S.’s fault. What’s next, aliens working with the CIA?
This interpretation by Sachs is controversial but not without its merits. The role of the US in the Middle East has always been complex. It’s critical to analyze all aspects of involvement. Frank, how did you consider these dimensions in your analysis?
