(Crankers) U.S. Representative Elise Stefanik of New York, a former supporter of Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney, has spoken out about her connection with her and how she fell out of favor with Republican leadership.
Following a media briefing for her super PAC, Elevate Political action committee, which did work to appoint more Republican women to the House of representatives, Stefanik told the Daily Caller News Foundation, “It was really evident that Cheney Liz lost the approval of her coworkers in House and Senate by monumental proportions just like she’s going to be losing the support of her components in Wyoming.”
Stefanik, a former ally, also backed Cheney’s 2020 presidential candidacy, said report.
Stefanik told the DCNF, “You are not qualified for these roles in public government… You are elected by your constituents, and you are elected by your colleagues in the event of leadership.”
Stefanik now supports Harriet Hageman, Cheney’s main opponent in the upcoming midterm elections.
Stefanik told the DCNF that “the Americans are far more significant than Liz Cheney” and that “as an elected politician, you should never forget that – that the American people are the most significant voices in our constitutional republic.”
When you forget that, it’s time you stepped down from your elected position.” Stefanik’s Campaign has sponsored 18 Republican House candidates for the 2022 midterm elections, including Morgan Ortagus of Tennessee, Karoline Leavitt of New Hampshire, and Mayra Flores of Texas.
