(Crankers) Democrat Senator John Fetterman was once again speaking against his own party, saying they are the worst when it comes to criticism.
Fetterman said fellow Democrats were the ones cheering for his next stroke, wishing ill and harm to him any time he doesn’t agree with them on something.
Fetterman has been noted as one of the few Democrats who thinks for themselves, using common sense, logic, and standing up for his country before his party. Fetterman constantly talks about the failures of his own Democratic Party, and rightfully so!
Fetterman has sometimes broken with party leadership: notably, in 2025 he voted to end a prolonged government shutdown, a move many Democrats opposed. After that vote, he said his party had “crossed a line.” He framed the shutdown as harmful to ordinary Americans and defended his vote as putting “country over party.”
He has warned against Democrats becoming too detached from working-class or rural voters, especially in more conservative or swing regions. Fetterman argues the party must stay connected to those voters’ concerns, or risk losing electorally.
On issues like crime and public safety, Fetterman has occasionally taken more moderate stances than some progressive Democrats — signaling that he believes Democrats must balance reform with public-safety concerns to stay credible with a broader electorate.
