Cracker Barrel brings back old logo, apologizes for failed rebrand

(Crankers) It’s like no one learned anything from the Bud Light marketing disaster that decimated sales and changed American’s views on the brand entirely. Cracker Barrel tried to rebrand themselves with a new logo and interior design, but the vast majority of customers appeared to be repulsed by it. The new logo removed the man sitting on the barrel and the interior looked bland and boring, quite the opposite of the homely feel with farm-style decor all over the place – exactly what the restaurant was known for.

Backlash from millions of people came flying in hot Once the new logo and interior design was launched. There was so much negative feedback that even the Cracker Barrel stocks tumbled for a while. All the backlash forced the company to go back to their old logo and branding, reported NBC News.

A Facebook post by Cracker Barrel said: “We thank our guests for sharing your voices and love for Cracker Barrel. We said we would listen, and we have. Our new logo is going away and our ‘Old Timer’ will remain… At Cracker Barrel, it’s always been — and always will be — about serving up delicious food, warm welcomes, and the kind of country hospitality that feels like family,” the company said. “As a proud American institution, our 70,000 hardworking employees look forward to welcoming you to our table soon.”

NBC News reported that Cracker Barrel shares suffered a 13% decline once the new logo was announced. There’s hope their shares will bounce back, especially after President Donald Trump shared a friendly message supporting the change back to the old logo. Trump’s message said: “Congratulations ‘Cracker Barrel’ on changing your logo back to what it was. All of your fans very much appreciate it.”
