This video took place during At today's Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing for Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) asked whether she agrees with the book, "Antiracist Baby" by Dr. Ibrim X. Kendi, which is in the library at a school on whose board she sits.
Ted Cruz spent some time discussing critical race theory, a controversial topic for many Americans, a concept that many people want out of schools and not part of education.
Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Florida Republican, has often spoken out against it, going so far as to ban it from schools.
Back on December 15, 2021, DeSantis pushed legislative action and the follow statement was part of a post listed on the FLGOV website:

Finally, we must protect Florida workers against the hostile work environment that is created when large corporations force their employees to endure CRT-inspired ‘training’ and indoctrination.”
