In a recent show of CNN’s Phil Mattingly, Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) defended President Joe Biden’s re-election chances, while saying that the Democrats believe that Former President Donald Trump “it is impossible for him to be the president again.” Mattingly asserted that the Democrats are concerned about Trump’s good polling numbers against Biden in a potential rematch, but Pelosi disagreed with the host, while also discussing the upcoming election generally.
Mattingly said that it is a neck-and-neck race and that, on the Democratic side, no one feels very comfortable of things that Donald Trump is not going to be the next president, but Pelosi responded by saying: “Well, I don’t think that nobody feels…” adding that she thinks that it is impossible for him to be the president again with what he is proposing. But Mattingly was very curious, so he asked her quickly: “Why do you say that?” Then Pelosi started to explain her view on the matter, saying: “Well, because when you’re talking about what he is talking about now with more tax cuts for corporate America, taking them down so low to the detriment of our budget and meeting the needs of people.”
The Former House Speaker also talked about how she believes the winning message for 2024 is on her party’s side, and how “public sentiment is everything” in an election, while also saying that she believes and is very confident that in 2024, Biden’s campaign will going “to get the job done.” Pelosi then went on to point out how Biden’s vision for our country is so important, along with his knowledge of the issues, and his strategic thinking as a legislator, but that “his emotional connection, the empathy he has for working families in our country,” is also as important as the other things she mentioned, according to a political news report on the Daily Wire.
Recently, Biden slammed Trump and his supporters, comparing them to “defeated Confederates,” during a speech at Mother Emanuel AME church in Charleston, South Carolina, the site of the 2015 race-fueled shooting that killed nine black members of the church. This speech came days after Biden addressed a crowd near Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, focusing on the third anniversary of the January 6, 2021, Capitol storming and celebrating the convictions of hundreds of Trump supporters in the years following. But as the former president continues to perform well in state and national polls pitting the two candidates against each other, in the last few weeks, President Biden and his campaign have put their sights on Trump. According to the Real Clear Politics average, Trump, who is the frontrunner in the GOP primary, is leading Biden by one point in national polls.
It seems like both Democrats and Republicans are very confident in winning the 2024 election, but Americans are growing tired of the struggles they’ve endured under Joe Biden and his failing White House.
