“Walgreens Isn’t A Welfare Agency”: Jesse Watters mocks Squad member who thinks closing a store ravaged by crime is racist

(Crankers) Gotta love when a Democrat Squad member says something ridiculous, then gets put in her place by Jesse Watters and a good portion of the Internet comment sections who agrees with him. Watters was mocking Democrat Rep. Ayanna Pressley after she suggested closing a store in a neighborhood ravaged by crime and theft was racist, seemingly ignoring the whole concept that a business can’t continue to thrive if they’re getting robbed every other day. The store that shut down was a Walgreens in the Roxbury neighborhood in Boston. They were getting destroyed by crime and theft, so Walgreens pulled the plug on it.

And of course, what happened next? Democrats are gonna Democrat. Pressley suggested it was because of racism. No, it’s because you can’t run a business based on SELLING THINGS if people aren’t paying for them. Jesse Watters pointed out that “Walgreens isn’t a welfare agency” where people can come in and get free items, reminding people that Walgreens is a store, and stores only survive if they do what? That’s right, sell things. And how does sales work? You give them money and Walgreens gives you products. How do they do it in Roxbury? Oh, I guess they just walk in and take whatever they want without paying for it.

Now they can’t do that anymore, because Walgreens is leaving. Say bye to your prescriptions, your everyday goods, and your essential items and cough drops. Say bye to your store because the criminals in your neighborhood couldn’t keep their grimy hands off things without paying for them. And look, if you live in that town and you voted for Democrats, then I guess this is your fault. You voted for a group of politicians who are soft on crime and blame things on racism instead of solving problems and being tough on crime. Not to mention the fact that everything costs more now, but where’s the fix for that? I guess Joe Biden has no answer, and Walgreens doesn’t either. They’re not interested in running a store that puts employees in danger and people just keep taking advantage of the five finger discount. No thanks!

The Daily Caller quoted Pressley making her insane statement: “When a Walgreens leaves a neighborhood, they disrupt the entire community, and they take with them baby formula, diapers, asthma inhalers, lifesaving medications, and, of course, jobs… These closures are not arbitrary, and they are not innocent. They are life-threatening acts of racial and economic discrimination.”

Maybe the people who live there should get jobs and start paying for items. This isn’t racism, this is crime. Jesse Watters said the following: “Pressley needs to look at the root cause here: Shoplifting, same story everywhere. Walgreens is scared to say shoplifting is why they are closing… Walgreens isn’t a welfare agency that can just hand out free toiletries, they are a business. They don’t owe you anything. They have employees and customers they need to worry about. It’s a business decision. If you want to keep stores open in the neighborhood, keep crime out.”

Walgreens shut down stores in California because of shoplifting. They shut down stores in Chicago because of crime. Walgreens isn’t here for your criminal activity. They want to make money and they’re not going to make money in locations where they’re being robbed. Makes total sense. Would you stay in a neighborhood where crime took over and your business couldn’t thrive? Nope, you would not, and don’t even try to act like you would. Watch Jesse Watters in the video below…
