(Crankers) Marjorie Taylor Greene reports being ‘swatted’ just after 1am and sent a public message to law enforcement thanking them for their professionalism and help. Officers were called to her residence at around one in the morning, according to the police, after someone claimed to have seen someone shot numerous times. However, when they arrived, they discovered that the call was a prank. The number of cops who showed up is still a secret.

According to police, a second caller who spoke with a digitally altered voice expressed their outrage about Greene’s stance on the rights of transgender youths. After taking office, Greene placed a sign opposing transgender rights in front of her Washington, D.C., office, next to a transgender flag flown by her next-door neighbor, Illinois Rep. Marie Newman. There are TWO genders: MALE and FEMALE, and the sign also read “Trust The Science.”

The Georgia lawmaker posted a tweet shortly after the hoax call, saying that she was swatted. She promised to reveal more details soon. “I can’t express enough gratitude to my local law enforcement here in Rome, Floyd County,” Greene tweeted.

Swatting is a kind of a prank call to 911 in an effort to seek a response from law enforcement. Sometimes, people use modern technology to make it look like the emergency phone call comes from the victim’s phone, and in some cases, this can be fatal. It is said that swatting has existed for almost two decades. The idea originates from the gaming community, but hoax calls often target celebrities, politicians, etc.

Swatting is the act of alerting emergency services of a threat, such as a hostage situation, bomb threat, or shooting, at a specific address. The caller, or “swatter,” frequently employs caller ID spoofing technologies, said Fox5 Atlanta . Police respond to the call without realizing it is a scam. Deadly outcomes as the result of swatting are not rare because if someone opens the door and moves erratically, it could prompt force from the officers.

Other Georgian lawmakers were the victims of swatting. Kandiss Taylor, an ex-candidate for governor, revealed that she and her family went through a similar situation.

Taylor described the incident as “traumatizing,” adding that someone had allegedly made a bogus police report that a murder had occurred at her residence.“I don’t care what political party you are – this is evil. This is not OK. And I will find out who swatted my house. And I will do everything in my power to bring them to justice,” she said.

The investigation of both cases is in progress.

Marjorie Taylor Greene is known as a far-right politician and businesswoman. Since 2021, she has represented Georgia’s 14th congressional district in the US Congress. She was elected to Congress in 2020 as a Republican and a passionate supporter of former President Donald Trump.

Last night, I was swatted just after 1 am.

I can’t express enough gratitude to my local law enforcement here in Rome, Floyd County.

More details to come.
