Here's a college grad ripping up her diploma during a graduation ceremony, but I wonder if she forgot just one thing. The colleges don't usually give you the real diploma at the ceremony. It's usually just a piece of paper and the real diploma is mailed or picked up later.
You'd think after being in school for a few years that this person might know that. And maybe she did know, but she wanted to make a symbolic gesture to send a message? What's her message? Is it that she's not employable or worth hiring at any job, ever? If I was an employer and saw this, then I'd throw her resume in the trash the moment it came into my office. I'd laugh, wipe my butt with it, and tell her all jobs are filled.
If you look at the screen, it looks like these folks are getting a masters degree in social work. No offense to social workers, but I didn't know you needed a masters for that. Sounds like she wasted tuition money when she could've been a social worker by now. And, let's be a little more honest here – if she's working in social work, then I'd be scared. I wouldn't want her working anywhere near people. She's too angry and symbolic for that. I need someone with more positive energy. I need the graduate who does a backflip or something funny. We need good vibes, not bitter angry vibes.
