‘I wouldn’t step out of the electric chair to watch that’ – Rep. Burchett on ‘Wicked’

(Crankers) Republican Rep. Tim Burchett said “I wouldn’t step out of the electric chair to watch that” after he saw a video of Ariana Grande and another actress suggesting that ‘Wicked’ and ‘Wizard of OZ’ had very gay undertones to it. Burchett, like most Americans, appears to be tired of the woke Hollywood people turning things gay when they don’t have to be.

The video Burchett commented on was Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, both of whom looked very skinny – almost to the point they look unhealthy. If you didn’t know who Ariana Grande was, then you’d think she and Erivo were starving Ethiopians who needed a $0.25 cents a month donation to survive on a few grains of rice. Just an opinion, but they don’t look OK to me.

Seems like woke Hollywood is being accused of trying to ruin the Oz brand by suggesting it’s gay. Many people on social media might say this is part of the reason Donald Trump won, because Americans wanted to send a message that they’re fed up with the so-called woke culture being thrown in their face like that meme of a chick with a dozen hot dogs.

A report on the Washington Examiner chimed in, saying:

“Oz is a celebration of uniqueness,” Grande answered, adding, “Everyone is just so beautifully queer and that roots all the way back to the L. Frank Baum books, where, like, literally the most commonly used word in the books is ‘queer.’” rivo called the film a celebration of “the other” and called her and Grande’s characters an “other” and “different.” She added in unison with the Gay Times reporter that, “Oz is a very queer place.”

Damshenas asked the Wicked actresses what a “pride parade would look like” in their film’s world. “Everyday in the Emerald City is a Pride parade,” Grande replied, referring to the capital city of the fictional Land of Oz. “I mean, it’s true. Even, like, the chickens, those chickens are gay,” Grande doubled down. “Definitely,” Erivo agreed. Damshenas pressed the Wicked stars about fans suggesting that their own characters are gay.

Watch the celebrities talk about ‘Wicked’ in the video here, if you really want to.
