(Crankers) A woman with a big thumb was on social media ranting about how many foods at Aldi contain “bioengineered ingredients.”
ALDI sells GMO products, but it also sells a growing selection of non-GMO and organic items. Customers can identify non-GMO options by looking for seals like “USDA Organic” or “Non-GMO Project Verified” on products, particularly within the Simply Nature line.
The company also has a policy of not permitting GM ingredients and derivatives in its own-label food products in some regions, though the policy on animal feed can differ.
A lot of products in a lot of stores have this, so it’s really up to YOU to decide if you want to eat them or not. I guess what you want to do is the thing you were supposed to be doing this entire time. Look at the label of everything you buy. If you don’t like what you see, then don’t buy it.
For me personally, I will try to avoid those things when I can or if I think it’s not going to be a healthy option. And since we’re in America, half the damn food we buy is garbage. It’s a shame that we have things on the shelves that are banned in other countries – and we do this for profit because our companies don’t care about our people.
And to me, that’s the worst part. If I ran a company that sold food, I’d want it to be healthy, or at the very least, NOT FAKE!
Will I still shop at Aldi? You’re damn right I will. I love that store and I know how to read labels. That’s all you need to do.
