(Crankers) Chris Wallace, the former host of “Fox News Weekend,” has now revealed why he felt forced to leave the network after almost two decades, alleging that the climate was “unsustainable” for him in the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election. Wallace abruptly left FOX in December to join CNN’s new streaming service, CNN+, and spoke with the New York Times about his choice to leave after 18 years and the circumstances that led up to it in an interview published Sunday.

“I’m happy with different points of view: conservative and liberal,” Wallace remarked. “However, when people begin to doubt the facts — Who won the 2020 election? Was the 6th of January an uprising? — That didn’t sit well with me. I spent a good portion of 2021 hunting for a new place to work.”

Wallace said the following on video:

Wallace also told the New York Times that he had complained to network executives about programs like Tucker Carlson’s “Patriot Purge,” which he said only helped to bolster those who claimed former President Donald Trump’s 2020 election had been “stolen,” per report .

“Previously, I thought it was a place where I could get my work done while simultaneously feeling good about my job at Fox,” Wallace said.”And since November of 2020, that’s simply been unsustainable, and it’s just getting worse.” Wallace also stated that he was searching for a way out of politics completely, which he plans to do when his new CNN+ interview show, “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” premieres.

“One of the reasons I left Fox was to put all of that behind me,” she says. “There hasn’t been a single moment when I’ve regretted that decision,” he remarked. Eighteen decades previously, the bosses here at FOX swore me they would never intervene with a guest I scheduled or a question I asked — and they followed that promise,” Wallace told The Daily Wire on announcing his retirement from “Fox News Sunday.

“I’ve had the freedom to report to the best of my ability, to cover the subjects that are important to me, and to hold our country’s leaders responsible.” It’s been an incredible adventure. We’ve chronicled five presidential elections, interviewed every president since George H.W. Bush, and traveled around the world with French President Emmanuel Macron and Russian President Vladimir Putin.”
