(Crankers) Trump’s DOJ is suing California over their Prop 50 nonsense and it’s about to get HEATED!!
The U.S. Justice Department has officially sued to block California’s newly approved U.S. House map that the voters passed under Proposition 50, and the same map Democrats hoped would flip as many as five Republican-held seats in 2026.
California voters, who are completely clueless by the way, approved Prop 50 to redraw the congressional lines mid-decade. This is normally only done after the Census. Supporters said the old districts were outdated and didn’t reflect population changes.
Republicans said the new map was basically a Democratic cheat code wiping out GOP seats.
Now the DOJ is arguing that California crossed a constitutional line in that the new districts rely too heavily on race (Hispanic population percentages) as a shortcut to secure more Democratic-friendly seats.
The DOJ is basically saying “You can’t use race as a proxy for politics.”
And they want the courts to shut the whole thing down before the 2026 elections because the U.S. House is that close right now.
According to reports, Republicans currently hold 219 seats, Democrats hold 214, and the battle for control in 2026 is basically a street fight. If California adds five more Democratic-leaning districts, then that would be bad for everyone. Afterall, look how bad Democrats are doing in California now. There’s still people taking a dump in the streets and it’s a complete mess when it comes to homelessness.
More Democrats is a bad thing for everyone involved.
Now it will be up to a federal court to decide whether to freeze the map while the lawsuit proceeds. If they issue an injunction, then California can’t use the new map in 2026.
If the court lets the map stand, expect Republicans to appeal and the legal battle crawl its way toward the U.S. Supreme Court, especially if the House majority hangs in the balance.
The whole thing is a political mess and if we know anything, it’s that having more Democrats in California will ruin that state even further. I don’t think anyone truly wants that unless they’re a demon.
