(Crankers.com) President Donald Trump said the suspected shooter of conservative activist Charlie Kirk is in custody.
“I think with a high degree of certainty, we have him in custody,” said Trump during an interview. Trump also hopes the suspect, if it’s him, gets the death penalty.
The suspect was identified as Tyler Robinson, 22, from Utah according to multiple law enforcement staffers who spoke with NBC News. The reports also say a family member turned him in.
Trump said that facts may change as they get more information, but this is where they’re at and what they’re working with. “But you know, the facts are the facts. We have the person that we think is the person we’re looking for. But they drove into the police headquarters, and he’s there now.”
An update coming from Daily Mail: The killer confessed to his father, who is a a “27-year veteran of the Washington County Sheriff’s Department… His father then contacted authorities and secured his son before he could be taken into custody.”
