Trump may want the Panama Canal and Greenland, but there’s a catch

(Crankers) Word on the streets is that Donald Trump may be thinking about acquiring the Panama Canal and Greenland. We’re not sure this is even possible. but if anyone can pull it off, then it’s probably the president-elect himself, Mr. Donald Trump. When it comes to Greenland and the Panama Canal, there’s quite a catch.

Donald Trump has expressed interest in buying Greenland multiple times, but it’s not something that can realistically happen. Greenland is an autonomous territory of Denmark, and both Greenland and Denmark have made it clear that the island is not for sale. While the idea might seem intriguing from a strategic or resource perspective, international law and the sovereignty of nations make such a purchase highly unlikely. So, it looks like Greenland will remain Danish for the foreseeable future.

Donald Trump has also expressed interest in the Panama Canal, but acquiring it isn’t feasible. The Panama Canal is under the control of Panama, following a treaty signed in 1977 that handed over control from the United States to Panama in 1999. Trump has suggested that the U.S. should demand the return of the canal if Panama doesn’t reduce the fees it charges American ships. However, experts agree that unless the U.S. goes to war with Panama, reasserting control over the canal is not possible. So, it looks like the Panama Canal will remain under Panamanian control.

Of course, that’s unless Donald Trump puts the art of the deal into play. Do you think he will? To make this more interesting, Donald Trump was seen in a video years ago that might tickle your fancy. Check out this video from years ago with Donald Trump.

Can Trump actually buy Greenland?
