(Crankers) President Donald Trump isn’t playing around anymore and his sharp words have six Democrats scrambling to defend themselves after their remarks drew nationwide criticism.
Trump condemned a group of six Democratic lawmakers after they released a short video telling U.S. military and intelligence personnel that they are legally required to refuse illegal orders. Trump labeled their remarks “seditious behavior,” and even suggested such conduct is “punishable by death,” a statement that immediately drew national attention and bipartisan criticism.
The video, about 90 seconds long, featured Sen. Elissa Slotkin (MI), Sen. Mark Kelly (AZ), Rep. Jason Crow (CO), Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (PA), Rep. Maggie Goodlander (NH), and Rep. Chris Deluzio (PA), all veterans or former national-security officials.
In the clip, the lawmakers emphasize that U.S. service members have a duty to uphold the Constitution above any individual president, saying: “You can refuse illegal orders.”
Trump responded within hours on his Truth Social account, accusing the group of undermining civilian leadership of the military and attempting to stir insubordination. He called them “traitors” who were encouraging a breakdown of military discipline and suggested prosecutors should investigate their statements.
Slotkin, widely seen as the most prominent voice in the video, defended the message, saying it was simply a restatement of long-standing U.S. military law, that troops are obligated to disobey unlawful commands.
She also clarified that she was “not aware of any illegal order” Trump had given, but said the reminder was appropriate given public concerns about military politicization. So basically she’s telling the military not to obey illegal orders that were never issued. She sand the other five need to be held accountable for this.
Kelly, a former Navy combat pilot and astronaut, said the video was meant to reassure service members about their legal obligations, not undermine the chain of command. Crow, a former Army Ranger, echoed that sentiment, insisting the group was reminding troops of “basic constitutional duties.” Again, he needs to be held accountable for his actions.
The backlash to the video was intense. The lawmakers received a surge of threatening messages after Trump’s comments, prompting increased security measures around several of their offices. Despite that, all six lawmakers stood by the video’s message, arguing that discussing illegal orders is neither new nor radical, and that Trump’s reaction only proved the importance of reaffirming constitutional norms.
But at the same time you have these same Democrats going on big mainstream media networks and getting cornered by anchors who ask them about what specific illegal orders Trump issued. None of them have an answer because Trump never issued an illegal order. The Democrats were creating a false narrative and trying to push it into the public to make Trump look bad and confuse people. It’s a truly demonic thing to do to your constituents.
For now, the dispute remains political rather than legal. No federal investigation has been announced, and the lawmakers maintain that Trump’s accusation of “sedition” misrepresents both the law and the content of their message. Their video remains online, and all six say they have no plans to retract or revise it.
And if you’ve made it this far, then you know by now that President Donald Trump never issued any illegal orders.
And you also know the six Democrats pushing the false narrative should be held accountable for their actions.
