(Crankers) What a stinky situation to be in! Rep. Zoe Lofgren is accused of farting during a segment with Jim Acosta on CNN. Turn the volume up and you can hear what appears to be a muffled sound of flatulence.

The sound mimics a fart when someone is sitting down and their cheeks are flattened out, making it harder for the gas to make its way out and therefore sounding like someone put a silencer on a whoopie cushion.

I don’t think she will respond to comments about the alleged fart.

Here’s the video of Rep. Zoe Lofgren allegedly farting on CNN:

Who is Rep. Lofgren? She is a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives, representing California’s 18th District. She has been serving in Congress since 1995 and has a long history of advocating for immigrant rights, tech policy, and election security.

Lofgren is currently the Ranking Member of the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee and serves on the House Judiciary Committee. She has been a strong voice for comprehensive immigration reform and has worked on bipartisan efforts to address issues related to farmworkers and visa programs.

Who is Jim Acosta? Jim Acosta, born Abilio James Acosta on April 17, 1971, is an American broadcast journalist and anchor who currently serves as CNN’s chief domestic correspondent. He is widely recognized for his role as CNN’s chief White House correspondent during the Trump administration, where he gained significant attention for his confrontations with President Donald Trump at press briefings.

Before his tenure as chief White House correspondent, Acosta was CNN’s senior White House correspondent during the Obama administration, covering presidential press conferences, visits by heads of state, and issues affecting the Executive Branch. His career with CNN includes national political correspondence, particularly during the 2012 presidential election where he was embedded with Mitt Romney’s campaign.

Acosta has Cuban, Irish, and Czech ancestry, with his father having emigrated from Cuba to the U.S. as a refugee. He graduated from Annandale High School in 1989 and from James Madison University in 1993, majoring in mass communication with a minor in political science.

In January 2021, he was reassigned to anchor weekend news programs and became CNN’s chief domestic correspondent, focusing on broader national issues. His journalism has not been without controversy; notably, his press credentials were briefly revoked by the Trump administration following a contentious exchange in November 2018, leading to a legal battle that CNN won, allowing Acosta’s access to be restored.

Acosta has also authored a book titled “The Enemy of the People: A Dangerous Time to Tell the Truth in America,” published in 2019, which discusses his experiences covering the Trump administration. He is known for his assertive questioning style and has been both praised and criticized for his approach to journalism, particularly in politically charged environments.
