(Crankers) OH WOW! Another one bites the dust in the Jeffrey Epstein saga.
This time it is Larry Summers, a professor at Harvard, who just resigned after it was discovered that he has ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
Harvard is investigating Summers’ ties to the creeper who definitely did not kill himself in prison a few years ago.
The move comes after newly released emails have brought more attention to his past links with the convicted sex offender. A spokesperson confirmed his decision to step back from his teaching role during the investigation.
Summers has also stepped down from his position on OpenAI’s board as scrutiny and pressure have mounted against him like a big butt sitting on dusty park bench.
Looks like a few other teachers will handle the rest of Summers’ classes for the semester. There’s only three more classes left, at the time I saw the news. Imagine going home to your parents for winter break and telling them your teacher quit because he’s buddies with a pedophile.
Merry Christmas, right?
A large cache of emails and documents was released by the U.S. House Oversight Committee, revealing that Summers maintained regular contact and a close relationship with Epstein until the day before Epstein’s final arrest in July 2019.
The emails showed Summers confided in Epstein about personal matters, including seeking advice on a romantic relationship with a woman he described as his mentee.
Epstein referred to himself as Summers’ “wing man” and the two joked about the probability of Summers having sex with the woman.
The release of these communications led to immediate and widespread backlash from students, faculty, and public figures. Facing mounting pressure and after Harvard announced it was conducting a review into his and others’ ties with Epstein, Summers decided to go on leave from his teaching and center director duties. In a statement, Summers expressed “deep shame” and stated his continued communication with Epstein was a “major error in judgment.”
Simultaneously, Summers resigned from several other high-profile roles, including board positions at OpenAI and the Center for American Progress, and as a paid contributor to Bloomberg TV and the New York Times.
Oh, did I mention that Larry Summers was the president of Harvard University from 2001 to 2006? Yeah, he resigned as Harvard president back in 2006 thanks to controversies surrounding his management style and some speech that ticked people off. Whatever. I don’t care about that stuff, but it’s the Epstein buddy-buddy stuff that should have Summers NO WHERE NEAR A SCHOOL.
With all the ties that Harvard has to Epstein, it’s amazing that anyone would send their kids to study there. It’s like you’re supporting the people who supported a pedophile.
Why would anyone go to Harvard after all the Epstein connections have been exposed?
