President Donald Trump wanted to go after James Comey and Letitia James, but since the prosecutor lacked lawful authority to do this, it was all thrown the heck out.
The big news is that the cases against James Comey and Letitia James are dismissed. Now you’re gonna want to know why so you know who to be mad at. It’s not the judge. The judge actually ruled correctly based on the law and technicalities. We would support the same ruling if it was in Trump’s favor, so let’s not go after the judge.
Let’s look at who screwed this up in the first place and that’s Pam Bondi.
Attorney General Pam Bondi had appointed Donald Trump’s former personal lawyer and current White House aide as the top federal prosecutor in Virginia’s Eastern District, just two days after the president urged her to fill the role and quickly target his political rivals.
This was back in September and Lindsey Halligan was sworn in as interim U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. She can legally serve in the temporary position for up to 120 days, taking on the role amid Trump’s most direct push for federal prosecutors under her oversight to bring charges against some of his chief opponents, specifically in this case former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James.
But somehow, someway, Halligan was illegally appointed and not supposed to be doing this, and that makes all her work invalid. HOW DID THEY NOT KNOW THIS? HOW DID THEY MESS THIS UP?

A federal judge has dismissed the criminal indictments against former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James, ruling that the special prosecutor who brought the charges had been illegally appointed, rendering the cases invalid.
The decision was issued on November 24, 2025, by Judge Cameron McGowan Currie of the U.S. District Court. In her ruling, she found that prosecutor Lindsey Halligan, a former Trump administration aide who had been installed as acting U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, did not have lawful authority to oversee the prosecutions. Because her appointment violated federal statute, all actions taken in her capacity, including filing indictments, were deemed void.
Comey had been charged with making false statements and obstructing a congressional proceeding, stemming from his previous testimony about the FBI’s handling of the Russia investigation.
Letitia James faced charges related to bank fraud and false statements involving a real-estate loan.
Judge Currie dismissed the cases without prejudice, meaning the Department of Justice could theoretically refile charges with a lawfully appointed prosecutor. However, legal experts note that statute-of-limitations issues may prevent any renewed case against Comey. The same may apply to parts of the case against James, depending on the dates of the alleged conduct.
So basically the DOJ under Pam Bondi completely crapped the bed on this. They can technically replace Halligan and refile the charges if they want to. And they should, because that’s what Democrats would do to Trump. Look at all the nonsense they put him through. Maybe a taste of their own medicine will stop this lawfare nonsense once and for all.
The DOJ has not yet announced whether it intends to seek new charges under a properly appointed U.S. Attorney.
Maybe Trump should get rid of Pam Bondi and find someone who spends less time on TV.
