(Crankers) Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett tries slamming president-elect Donald Trump’s efforts to increase government efficiency and reduce wasteful government spending through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Crockett refers to Trump’s new team as a “joke” and suggests that Trump is creating a new department (spending money) to reduce wasteful departments (save money). The slamming didn’t work too well as Crockett was mocked on social media shortly after the video came out.
Crockett is either purposely ignoring the fact that you can create a new department that has a sole job of eliminating or reducing other departments that are not needed. For example, the DOGE might cost X amount of dollars to run – but if they can reduce the overall government spending by 3-5 times the amount of what it costs to run DOGE, then that’s an overall reduction in spending. You’re spending more up front, to reduce the spending by a LOT in the future. This is a long-term goal, not a shorter fix.
Rep. Jasmine Crockett is also flaring up over an anti-DEI bill penned by Republicans. That bill is called “Dismantle DEI” and it looks to eradicate the diversity-based hiring that causes so many problems in so many jobs. Crockett posted on X decrying ‘Dismantle DEI’ by saying: “As we continue to try to get the full truth out about what’s happening in this country, I encourage you to watch cspan. On yesterday a colleague had a bill in markup entitled “dismantle DEI.” In explaining why the bill was needed, multiple white R men argued that they are being “oppressed.” I didn’t bring race into anything… THEY DID & always do & then they twist history & dilute the definition of words.”
Rep. Crockett also used the word ‘entitled’ incorrectly. The correct word would’ve been ‘titled’ as in the ‘title’ of something. ‘Entitled’ is typically defined as “believing oneself to be inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment: “kids who feel so entitled and think the world will revolve around them” · “his pompous, entitled attitude.”
