(Crankers) ICE arrested a convicted sex offender who somehow still landed a job with the Minnesota Department of Education. The offender is Wilson Tindi and he worked as the Director of Internal Audit and Advisory Services at the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE).

His appointment gained public attention in July 2025 due to a criminal conviction for sexual assault in 2016 that did not result in his deportation.

In 2016, Tindi was convicted of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct for assaulting a sleeping woman after breaking into her home in Minnesota. He pleaded guilty in exchange for the dismissal of a first-degree burglary charge.

He received a two-year prison sentence, was required to register as a predatory offender, and served 210 days in a workhouse. He was not deported, despite serving time as a Kenyan national.

Tindi is a finance professional with over 17 years of experience in internal and external auditing, risk management, and compliance.
He joined the Minnesota Department of Education and was later promoted to his current leadership role.

The fact that a registered sex offender holds a position overseeing public spending has been a source of controversy and shock to some involved in his criminal case.

Following his arrest by ICE, he might be deported.
