(Crankers.com) United States immigration authorities arrested hundreds as they raided a Hyundai manufacturing plant that builds electric vehicles in Georgia. It appears they were raiding a construction site at a factory nearby where the EV batteries were being made and ended up with quite a few arrests in the process.
The plant employs about 1,200 workers, but that number was likely reduced after what just happened.
ICE spokesman Lindsay Williams confirmed the raid. DHS said that ICE agents had a search warrant “as part of an ongoing criminal investigation into allegations of unlawful employment practices and other serious federal crimes,” according to the news reported on the Hyundai raid.
UPDATE: new reports say at least 475 people were arrested during the Hyundai raid.
