(Crankers) As the government shutdown continues, senators worked through the weekend for the first time in hopes of reaching a resolution. This could be the first time that people in government feel what it’s like to actually go to work.
Let’s be honest here folks – does anyone in government actually “work” or do most of them just sit on social media or do Fox/CNN interviews? Because what do they ever do to earn that six figure salary?
I know they don’t read the bills the push through. We know this because they lump bills together because they’re too lazy to vote on things individually.
So when I hear that government was working through a single weekend, then I feel like it’s the first time they worked all year!
In other news, U.S. airlines canceled over 1,000 flights on Saturday due to the shutdown and the FAA’s reduced air traffic orders, following another 1,000 cancellations on Friday.
Charlotte’s airport was the hardest hit, with 120 flights canceled by midday Saturday. Airports in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, and Orlando also faced significant disruptions, with staffing shortages in Charlotte and Newark contributing to delays.
If there’s anything wrong here, it’s that normal people who have real jobs are the ones suffering while the big wigs in politics argue over dinner.
No matter what side of politics you’re on, it’s all one big clown show at this point.
