Comic actor Fred Willard of ‘Modern Family’ and ‘Best in Show’ has passed away

(Crankers) Comic actor Fred Willard has passed away. He was a big hit in the TV series “Modern Family. Willard had famous roles in movies like “A Mighty Wind” and “Best in Show” and he was a big part of the mockumentary niche.

Willard was 86-years-old as he passed away. The announcement was made by his daughter, Hope Willard, in a message she posted online.

She wrote , “It is with a heavy heart that I share the news my father passed away very peacefully last night at the fantastic age of 86 years old. He kept moving, working and making us happy until the very end.We loved him so very much! We will miss him forever.”

Some interesting facts about Fred Willard:

His career was 50 years and going.

He just wrapped up filming the Netflix series called “Space Force.” In this series, he plays the father of Steve Carell.

Willard was a recurring role of Frank Dunphy on the “Modern Family” series and nominated for an Emmy award. Frank Dunphy was Phil Dunphy’s father in the show.

Back in 2016, as reported by NBC News, Willard “joined an elite list of comedians and comic actors who have received the Johnny Carson Comedy Legend Award given to those who have left his or her own mark on the comedy world.”

Willard had many roles in his lifetime that spoke volumes to different people along so many different times.

To see his name among the classics like Johnny Carson is quite the accomplishment and something worth remembering.
