(Crankers) General Michael Flynn will receive good news when he finds out the Justice Department has decided to drop the criminal case against him. Flynn is President Donald Trump’s first national security advisor and he was facing prosecution. Flynn became a major figure for Trump supporters who used the FBI’s investigation into Russian allegations against the president, and criticized it heavily.

Special counsel Robert Mueller is likely to be disappointed in this, as it’s one of his biggest cases.

Flynn was accused of lying to the FBI about talks had with a Russian ambassador back in 2017.  But Michael Flynn apparently admitted to it and even, according to the AP exclusive on NBC 12, had become somewhat of a component for Mueller who insisted that there was some sort of political ties with Russia and now President Donald Trump’s then campaign back in 2016 in his bid against Hillary Clinton.

NBC 12 quoted the Justice Department on their decision to drop the case, as saying the case was dropped “after a considered review of all the facts and circumstances of this case, including newly discovered and disclosed information.”

NBC 12 also quoted Jeff Jensen. He was responsible for reviewing Flynn’s case. Jensen is a US attorney and he reported to Attorney General Bill Barr. Jensen told Barr, in a formal recommendation, that “Through the course of my review of General Flynn’s case, I concluded the proper and just course was to dismiss the case.”

It appears that AG Barr has agreed and now Flynn’s criminal case will be dropped.

Many have called on President Donald Trump to pardon Flynn, but it appears that may no longer be necessary.

This decision is sure to stir the pot on social media as Flynn’s supporters will be enthusiastic, but others who did not approve of Flynn’s actions will counter with their own arguments.

Either way, it’s done.
