(Crankers.com) Emory University School of Medicine fired a professor over their social media posts, according to Laura Diamond, Assistant Vice President of University Communications.
The University did not reveal the identity of the dismissed faculty member, but following Charlie Kirk’s assassination, School of Medicine Associate Professor Anna Kenney made a Facebook post describing the right-wing figure as a “disgusting individual” and commented “good riddance” in response to another post about the incident.
Anna Kenney’s profile has been removed from the School of Medicine’s website and now redirects to a 404 page. It’s believed that Anna Kenney was the professor who was fired.
Joon Lee, the Executive Vice President of Health Affairs, condemned using social media to glorify violence, referring to anyone who celebrated the death of Charlie Kirk. Lee’s statement said: “However, let me be clear: any celebration or incitement of violence, including on social media, is not acceptable under any circumstances and is inconsistent with our values… These types of expressions undermine both our shared values and the safety of our entire community.”
