Bill de Blasio: NYC to cut ties with Trump Organization contracts worth about $17 million

(Crankers) Democratic mayor of NYC, Bill de Blasio, has announced that NYC will cut ties with four contracts they have with the Trump Organization after the incident that occurred on January 6 at the Capitol. These contracts allowed the Trump Organization to get about $17 million annually, but that will soon come to an end.

Mayor de Blasio was on this week’s Morning Joe, on Wednesday, where he addressed the situation and suggested that New York City will sever ties with the Trump Organization contracts as soon as possible.

De Blasio stated on the show, “the city of New York is severing all contracts with the Trump organization. Our legal team has done an assessment, and the contracts make very clear, if a company, the leadership of that company is engaged in criminal activity, we have the right to sever the contract. Inciting an insurrection, let’s be clear, I’ll say these words again, inciting an insurrection against the United States government clearly constitutes criminal activity. So the city of New York will no longer have anything to do with the Trump Organization. They have profited from these contracts. They will profit no longer.”

A report on the Washington Examiner shows that President Trump’s “Trump Organization” gets about “$17 million” per year from the four contracts. One of the contracts is in the Bronx while the remaining three contracts are within Manhattan.

President Trump faces other troubles as multiple tech giants have removed or limited his of major social media and tech platforms. The president has stated that he wants no violence, however the Democrats are still pushing for a second impeachment of Trump.

If Democrats, and several supporting Republicans, are successful in moving forward with the impeachment, that would make President Donald Trump the first president in United States political history to be impeached twice.

Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has demanded that President Donald Trump resign, but he refused. As of today, there are just seven days until Joe Biden, President-elect, is inaugurated.
