(Crankers) Former President Donald Trump may be having a better day after learning about this breaking news story. Fani Willis, known for targeting Trump in Georgia, just got herself subpoenaed by House Republicans who want to see documents in connection with accusations that she fired someone for whistle-blowing in hopes to stop someone else from using federal funds in an possibly unethical way. The whistleblower wanted to stop a top campaign aide from misusing money, but ended up getting themselves fired. Now the tables have turned on Fani Willis.

NBC News was able to get a copy of the subpoena and said it’s part of a probe connected to Republican Jim Jordan and fellow House Republicans. They’re investigating Fani Willis to see if any federal funds were used to target Donald Trump in an investigation that spanned about two years. Trump was indicted in Fulton County, by Fani Willis, so Republicans are pushing back to make sure nothing fishy went on. But of course, it’s politics, so if there isn’t something fishy going on somewhere, that’s more shocking than anything. NBC News reported on what Jim Jordan was going after, saying the following in their political report covering the subpoena of Fani Willis:

In a letter Friday, Jordan says Willis has failed to comply with two earlier requests for documents related to her office’s use of federal grant money. The subpoena calls on the district attorney’s office to provide documents and communications “referring or relating to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office’s receipt and use of federal funds” and “referring or relating to any allegations of the misuse of federal funds.”

Willis’ office has condemned Jordan’s requests, writing last year in a letter to him that there is “no justification in the Constitution for Congress to interfere with a state criminal matter.”

Fani Willis or her office pushing back isn’t likely to slow down the GOP in their own investigations into the DA who was accused of going on a “witch hunt” after Donald Trump. Jordan is even going so far as to suggest Fani Willis retaliated against a worker who simply wanted to do the right thing, by stopping a top aide from allegedly using, or attempting to use, grant money inappropriately. Of course, more details will emerge as the House Republicans dive deeper into the Fani Willis saga.

What else happened to the employee fired by Fani Willis or her district attorney office? NBC added the details for further context on the breaking news story:

The former employee in the district attorney’s office told Willis that she was demoted after she warned a Willis campaign aide against misusing federal grant funding earmarked for a youth gang prevention effort, according to a recording of the call reported by the conservative Washington Free Beacon. Two months later, the employee was “abruptly terminated” and “escorted out of her office by seven armed investigators,” Jordan’s letter says, quoting the report.

How deep does the Fani story go? Fani Willis also had to address rumors of an affair.’
