(Crankers) CNN just took another blow to the ratings chin when Newsmax stepped up to defeat them in some key ratings. CNN’s primetime average total viewership plummeted below Newsmax on Friday, even after former President Donald Trump was a big time hit on the CNN townhall.

The network averaged 335,000 viewers in primetime, while Newsmax reeled in 357,000 viewers, Forbes reported. Fox News came in first place with 1.4 million viewers and MSNBC placed in second with 1,084 million.

CNN defeated Newsmax in the key 25-54 demographic with an average of 87,000 views, the outlet reported. Fox News dominated in the demo with 109,000 viewers and MSNBC averaged 98,000. Newsmax came in fourth averaging 45,000 viewers, said Daily Caller .

Newsmax’s 8 p.m. program, “Eric Bolling The Balance,” defeated CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” by 20,000 views. Bolling’s show received 467,000 views and Cooper’s garnered 447,000, Forbes reported. CNN’s 9 p.m. program, “The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper” trailed behind Newsmax’s “Chris Plante The Right Squad,” as the CNN program averaged 293,000 viewers and Plante’s show garnered 325,000 viewers.

The pattern continued at the 10 p.m. hour, with Newsmax’s “Greg Kelly Reports” receiving 278,000 views and CNN’s “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace” garnered 263,000, the outlet reported.
