(Crankers) Here’s one of Mayor Brandon Johnson’s finest! This guy had at least 72 prior arrests, multiple convictions, and should’ve been in jail for a long time.
Nope! He’s in a Democrat city roaming free because Democrats aren’t tough on crime. And now he’s in custody and accused of LIGHTING A WOMAN ON FIRE.
HOW MANY ARRESTS DOES SOMEONE NEED TO GO TO JAIL!!!
A Chicago man, 50-year-old Lawrence Reed, accused of setting a woman on fire aboard a CTA Blue Line train, will remain in federal custody pending trial, according to prosecutors. Surveillance video showed Reed boarding the train near Clark/Lake station after purchasing gasoline about 20 minutes earlier.
Prosecutors say he poured the fuel over the 26-year-old victim, ignited it, and fled. The woman remains hospitalized in critical condition with life-threatening burns. This crime should put the man away for LIFE. This is not like he went to Walmart and stole grape soda. He tried to kill a woman by setting her on fire. That is disturbing and has no place in a functional society.
Reed is charged with a terrorist attack on a mass transportation system and other federal offenses. Court documents indicate he has a 30-year criminal history with at least 72 arrests and around 15 convictions, including arson, government property damage, and drug trafficking. Prosecutors noted he was recently released on electronic monitoring after an aggravated battery case in Berwyn before allegedly committing this attack.
They argued he poses a “serious danger to the community” and requested his continued detention. YEAH NO SH*T!!!!
During his first court appearance, Reed disrupted the proceedings by “singing, babbling, and instructing the Court to not speak to him,” according to the motion. He was arrested wearing the same clothes from the night of the attack and had burns on his hand. He also had a CTA transit card used to board the train at the time of the incident.
If convicted, Reed could face life in prison. The case remains in the pre-trial phase as the investigation continues.
